Sermon Sunday

I would like everyone to look at this sermon from Sherwood Baptist Church. The title of the sermon is "How to Fireproof your family." There is a challenge for husbands and a good story for single people. The sermon is after the trailer for the movie and worship. Men it is time to take up your position in the family. I pray you will enjoy it.

Thank you for posting your Sunday Sermons. It really blesses us when you share what is going on in your local church. If you are new to posting on a Blog click on "How to add a comment" under Labels in the left column.

Have a great Lord's Day.

Greetings Everyone:
In our teaching today we were reminded of a few things that unfortunately we often forget in our busy day to day lives. It's not that we forget that we need water to survive, but that we are generously provided with the living water of the Holy Spirit, which springs from the well of God's presence. We must therefore be "thirsty for God", and be sure the wells He provides us with are well maintained and guarded. He used what we're told in Genesis 26 as the example, particularly verses 18-28.Verse 24 states that "That night the Lord appeared to him and said "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and you will increase the number descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham."Throughout the chapter it speaks of how the digging of wells brings a sense of peace and harmony for the various peoples. Our pastor pointed out how easily wells can become filled with dirt and debris, especially nowadays which he said he was quite sure are the end times. He also stated that God has all the answers, but all we have to do is ask Him what they are! He therefore admonished us to be prayerful, and to read His Word diligently, so as not to allow the enemy to gain a foothold. He also reminded that we can simply order Satan to "get thee behind me". All in all it was a very uplifting and encouraging sermon that reminded us that we always have more of "lifeline" available to us if we just make sure we make time to recognize Him! Have a blessed week everyone!
